The Boise Depot is open for public drop-in hours this summer from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays and 12:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays (except legal holidays). Summer hours continue through September.

Visitors can tour the great hall, bride's room and kitchen facilities, and take a ride in the elevator to enjoy scenic views from atop the Bell Tower. Admission is free.

Designed by a prominent New York architecture firm, the Boise Depot opened in 1925. Generations of passengers disembarked from Union Pacific and Amtrak trains into The Great Hall, a soaring 3,542-square-foot multistory atrium that once served as the building`s waiting room.

Operated by Boise Parks and Recreation, the Boise Depot is at 2603 Eastover Terrace off Capitol Boulevard, next to Platt Gardens.
